In response to ‘The Population Bomb’, Julian Simon wrote the much more accurate ‘The Ultimate Resource’. It didn’t get near the media attention of Ehrlich’s book because he believed the human mind (The Ultimate Resource) would solve this problem just like it solved previous domesday scenarios of the past. The authors even held a public bet, with Simon winning quite easily. The bottom line is we will always face large problems as human beings but to bet against their ultimate solutions would be a mistake.

Anyway , I noticed that you used domesday , as in Domesday Book (/ˈduːmzdeɪ/ DOOMZ-day; the Middle English spelling of "Doomsday Book") which is a manuscript record of the Great Survey of much of England and parts of Wales historically believed to have been completed in 1086 at the behest of William the Conqueror........which had more to do with valuing land holdings and levying taxes accordingly ......rather than just resources and population......which , to me , was a surprisingly LOW FIGURE of 1.5 to 2 million people !
Judging by the amazing GROWTH since then , they sure "used their imaginations" and increased the resources and wealth exponentially.......it's a pity that the vast majority of that wealth has now been dissipated on 'welfare' rather than further education and innovation !

and contiguous at that time as another fatuous "Bunch of Experts" were predicting the onset of Global FREEZING ! But , as the same clique now claim ,"There was no scientific consensus in the 1970s that the Earth was headed into an imminent ice age '.......EXCEPT that it KEPT appearing as HEADLINES in all the NEWSPAPERS....strongly supporting all those erstwhile eminently veracious and incorruptible sources of facts and purveyors of truth !!!!!?????? As HISTORY is now only taught in a way that ADVERSELY REFLECTS ON WESTERN CIVILISATION ,
